Portrait Project: Poath Road Traders

Portraits of Small Business Owners
Traders on Poath Rd, Murrumbeena/Hughesdale

Portrait Project: Poath Road, Murrumbeena/Hughesdale.

In 2017 and 2018, we worked in conjunction with the team organising the removal of the level crossing on Poath Road. As the construction greatly affected the small business along the small shopping strip, we attempted to promote small business, share stories of local traders and generally build morale during the turbulent times of construction.

Many of the businesses are still there today, thriving and kicking goals. This was a great project to be a part of. Portraits of these small business owners made it to articles in print, window decals, social marketing and on local websites.

It’s the people that make small business, owners, staff and the locals who support them.

“I would highly recommend Steve to anyone searching for a true professional with an artistic eye to create some of the most beautiful images. I was drawn to Steve's photography long before our session and I couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome.”
“Steve had both his own visions of the shoot and worked with my ideas which resulted in a comfortable and natural session. The time flew by and before I knew it there were all these great photos showing faces and looks that I make all the time but have never really seen for myself. Very illuminating!!”
