Flem Banks BMX Jam set the bar high for 2022. People talk about community in their sport all the time. BMX is no different. While I’ve felt like I’m on the sidelines – or even further from the action – for some time now, the welcoming nature of many of the people within the BMX community helps reassure it’s in good hands.Â
Fresh faces riding alongside faces that have been here for as long as I can remember. Some happy to watch, others – Pete Mayer – eager to keep shredding all day long.Â
BMX sure is in good, safe hands. A huge turn out with riders of all ages pushing limits. And the Flem Banks BMX Jam sideline crowd equally impressive. People young & old joining in the celebrations as people rode kids bikes.
While I could only stick around for a brief moment, in the few hours I was there, I shot two full rolls of my favourite Ilford FP4+. This is a selection of those two rolls of film.
Photographed with a Nikon F5 35mm film camera and then developed at home in Kodak HC110 for 8 minutes. I then scanned the film using an Epson V700 flatbed scanner.Â
Until next time,
Big Hugs
